Day 30- YAY!

This workout absolutely killed me!

Let me explain. I ate pretty poorly yesterday and that affected my performance. Coupled with the fact that it should have been a lighter workout day today, e.g. walking, yoga, I just messed up. I guess I should just put it down to the newness of my routine – you know how it is, you get all excited about getting fit and you overdo it in your zeal. Well today I proved that one to myself, and didn’t bide by the rule I would always tell my clients – don’t over do it, your body can’t improve if you keep tearing it down. So tomorrow is definitelty Rest Day.

I only did 21 minutes of this workout! Therefore, I will have to talk about it in more detail another day. From the get go I knew I wasn’t going to be able to finish it because the warm up seemed way to fast for me. I’ll see if it still feels that way next time. But it really seems like it was on 1.5x speed! The stretches seemed to come in too quick, at about 4 minutes in, and I didn’t feel like I had warmed up enough. My initial thoughts on why it was so hard was because I hadn’t warmed up sufficiently – my breathing was fast and furious within minutes of the workout proper being underway. I think it was really due to my weak, glycogen low muscles.

Jari looks really ripped in the DVD, more scrawny than in the other workouts I have done. I don’t know which order they were filmed in but she looks like her body fat percentage is about 2!!!

Anyway, after I did my Miss X’s Get Pooped 100 I decided to stretch and I didn’t feel like doing yoga. I’ll write about the DVD I got as a nice yoga alternative on my next post.

Because I kept my heart rate monitor going the whole time these stats do not correctly reflect a Get Ripped workout, but here’s my deal anyway:

3/7/08

1:04;55 [workout time]
17:04 [in aerobic zone 60% -80% Target Heart Rate]
106 bpm [average heart rate] – due to the stretching
168 bpm [highest heart rate]
269 [cals burned] – not that shabby with all that stretching
