Repeat Workouts: More Shredding – days 4, 5 & 6

Days 92, 93 & 94

Wow how time flies! Three days since my last post – but it doesn’t matter as I have been doing the same workout – Jillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred. I am really into it.

I am still doing level 1 and think I will do it a few more times till I progress to level 2. I am doing soooo much better with all the routines until the very last one where you do side lunges with anterior shoulder raises. It absolutely makes my shoulders fatigue and I can’t do all the raises. When I can I will move on. I still have not progressed to full body push ups but that would take more than six days as there are 30 in total!

My heart rate has gone down quite a bit, showing me that my heart is getting trained well on this program. It takes me all the way till the side lunges/shoulder raises to get my heart rate over 92% max for any real length of time and my huffing and puffing is almost minimal. It was full on the first time I tried this workout!

Day 92: For this day’s workout I did some crap ancient Denise Austin DVD I picked up [I don't want to write about it!] – I wanted something slower than my usual Turbo Jam, to lower the intensity for a bit, but I was bored beyond belief. I could barely make it through the 20 minute mark. Good golly – I just wanted to grab dear Denise and shake her till she stopped being so bright eyed and bushy tailed! Bless her!

5/8/08

55:09 [workout time]
32:27 [in aerobic zone 60% -80% Target Heart Rate]
140 bpm [average heart rate] – pretty high
176 bpm [highest heart rate] – 100% my max HR from the turbo
425 [cals burned]

Day 93: I got out Chalene Johnson’s short and sweet 20 minute Turbo Jam DVD that I find a perfect amount of cardio to do after Jillian’s challenging workout. Today I noticed I had plenty of juice in me at the end of the Jam and I felt great!

5/9/08

48:39 [workout time]
19:35[in aerobic zone 60% -80% Target Heart Rate]
145 bpm [average heart rate] – pretty high
176 bpm [highest heart rate] – 100% my max HR from the turbo
394 [cals burned]

Day 94: And today, May 10th, I dropped my monitor after my workout and it started to record again – over my stats, so I don’t have any! I did remember that I had only burned 374 cals though! Why? Well I think it is because today when I was working out my heart rate was a good bit lower than it has been – even during my cardio. I felt a little tired so I may not have given it 110% but I still gave it a helluva lot. I’ll put it down to my heart adjusting to the recent stress it’s been under with the Shred.

I can’t wait to see what next week, and the level 2 brings!
