Workout DVD #39: Yamuna Body Rolling: Sideline Routine

I have a stinking cold! I was less than impressed when I woke up on Thursday [5/22] and realized I wasn’t going to do my shred workout -  and it would have been the fifth day in a row. Anyway I have just been walking and doing some body rolling as exercise instead.

So, let me tell you about this great Yamuna Body Rolling workout for the side of your body. You may be thinking, “what kind of exercise DVD only works out the side of your body – what use is that?” but read on and you will find out.

The benefits of this workout DVD are many. It’s hard to comprehend how tight seemingly non-tight muscles actually are until you do this workout.

Like Yamuna Zake’s other body rolling workouts this one has Yamuna Zake standing among a group of six rollers and she adjusts them, guiding you all through the movements. You can easily follow her even at times when you might not be able to easily see the screen.

I find that I get very tight leg and hip flexor muscles and that no amount of regular stretching improves them for any real length of time. Body rolling on the other hand does.

The sideline routine is done on the side of your body, from lower quads to biceps and triceps but actually affects your whole body. You will be amazed at the amount of tension you hold in your armpit! Tension you had no idea existed there. And the truly amazing part is when you do one side of your body and then move around and feel the difference the new freedom of movement is very noticeable.

Do yourself a favor – if you sit at a desk a lot, or workout, or have any kind of muscular/body alignment imbalance, get a ball and a YBR DVD and repair your body [you need repair whether you feel you need it, or not.] Your body will only thank you for it.
